If you want to be help in developing the future of Swanscombe and Greenhithe you may wish to consider becoming a local Town Councillor?

At the Local Elections on 4 May 2023 all x13 seats for the x3 wards on the Town Council will be available for election.

Greenhithe Village Ward – 4 seats

Knockhall Ward – 3 seats

Swanscombe Ward – 6 seats

Would you like to stand for election?

To stand for election you have to meet the criteria set to be eligible and details of this are available via the Electoral Commission’s website.

The Electoral Commission also provide guidance and resources that you need if you are  a candidate at a parish council election in England.

Deadline Information. 

Candidates can be nominated from the day of the publication of the Notices of Election (borough and parish) until 4.00pm on Tuesday 4 April 2023.

Monday 17 April 2023 @ 12 midnight – Registration to vote deadline register online now

Tuesday 18 April 2023 @ 5.00pm – Postal vote deadline

Tuesday 25 April 2023 @ 5.00pm – Proxy vote deadline

Tuesday 25 April 2023 @ 5.00pm – Voter Authority Certificates deadline

2023 - Photo ID post it

Voting at elections – Photo ID is now required.

The Elections Act 2022 has meant that photo ID will be required to be shown by voters at the 4 May 2023 elections.
