Temporary Road Closures – Various Roads, Dartford & Gravesham – from 15 June 2022

Because of carriageway resurfacing and associated preparation, finishing and accommodation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Dartford and Gravesham, as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 15 June 2022 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

SCHEDULE

Dartford

A225 Main Road, Sutton at Hone

Works starting 12th August 2022 and should take 3 nights (excluding weekends)
To complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.

The above road will be closed between the junction of Pembroke Place and Franks Lane.

Alternative Route Via – A225 Dartford Road, A20 Main Road-Gorse Hill, A20 London Road, A227 Gravesend Road, A227 Wrotham Road, A227 South St, B260 Longfield Road, B260 Main Road, B260 Green Street Green Road, Darenth Hill, A225 Main Road and Vice Versa


A226 London Road, Swanscombe

Works starting 26th July 2022 and should take up to 4 nights to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.

The above road will be closed between the junction of High Street, Swanscombe and Knockhall Road.

Alternative Route Via – A226 Galley Hill Road, A226 Stonebridge Road, A226 Thames Way, A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A2 Watling Street (westbound), B255 Bean Lane, B255 St Clements Way, A226 London Road and vice versa

A225 Princes Road/Lowfield Street Crossroads, Dartford

Works starting 01st August 2022 and should take up to 10 nights (excluding Weekends) to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.

Lowfield Street will be closed between the junctions of Heath Street and Myrtle Road.

Princes Road will be closed between the junctions of Highfield Road South and Darenth Road.

Alternative Route Via – Oakfield Lane, A20108 Old Bexley Lane, A2018 Shepherds Lane, A226 East Hill, A226 Westgate Road, A226 Home Gardens A226 West Hill, A296 Park Road, A226 Princes Road.

New Barn Road, Southfleet

Works starting 29th July 2022 and should take up to 1 night to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.

New Barn Road will be closed between the junctions Red Street and Ridgewood.

Alternative Route Via – New Barn Rd, Hall Rd, Coldharbour Road, A227 Wrotham Rd, B260 Longfield Rd, B260 Main Rd, New Barn Rd and vice versa.

A296 Princes Road, Dartford

Works starting 02nd October 2022 and should take up to 6 nights to complete, working hours will be between 22:00 and 05:00 each Night.

The Above named road will be closed between junction 1b and Park Road roundabout.

Alternative Route Via – A296 Princes Road, B2500 Watling Street, A226 The Brent, A296 Park Road and vice versa.

 

GRAVESEND

B2175 London Road, Gravesend 

Works to be undertaken on 17th August 2022 and should take up to 4 nights (excluding weekends) to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00 each Night.

The above road will be closed between St Marks Avenue and Lennox Road.

Alternative route westbound via A226 Overcliffe, A226 Bath Street, West Street, A226 Thames Way, B2175 Stonebridge Road, B2175 High Street, B2175 The Hill Northfleet and B2175 London Road.

Alternative Route eastbound via A226 B2175 London Road, B2175 The Hill Northfleet, B2175 High Street, B2175 Stonebridge Road, A226 Thames Way, West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 The Terrace, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Milton Road, A226 Parrock Street, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville place, A227 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road, Darnley Road and A226 Overcliffe.

Suspension of No entry / one way restriction at the junction of Lansdowne Square and The Shore. This is to allow access and egress to Burch Road, Pier Road, Cross Road and Chestnut Close during working hours. 3 way Temporary traffic signals will in place at the junction of The Shore and Lansdowne Square to aid vehicles to enter and exit.

B2175 London Road, Northfleet

Works to be undertaken on 28th July 2022 and should take 1 night to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00.

The above road will be closed between Springhead Road and Rural Vale.

Alternative route via B2175 London Road, A226 Thames Way, B2175 Stonebridge Road, B2175 High Street, B2175 The Hill Northfleet.

A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend

Works to be undertaken on 18th July 2022 and should take up to 2 nights to complete, working hours will be between 20:00 and 05:00.

The above road will be closed between the junctions of Ingoldsby Road to Forge Lane and Brown Road to Dering way north to south.

Lower Higham Road will be closed at the junction of Farriers Close.

Alternative route westbound via A226 Rochester Road, A226 Gravesend Road, A289 Hasted Road, A2 Watling Street westbound, A227 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road, Darnley Road, A226 Bath Street, A226 west Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 the Terrace, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Milton Road, A226 East Milton Road and Rochester Road.

Alternative route Eastbound via A226 Rochester Road, A226 East Milton Road, A226 Milton Road, a226 Parrock Street, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A227 Wrotham Road, A2 Watling Street eastbound, A289 Hasted Road, A226 Gravesend Road and A226 Rochester Road.

Access and egress from Dering Way Will be maintained under the use of 2-way traffic signals.

On the evening of 28th July 2022 access to Dering Way will be available from the western (Gravesend town centre) end of the closure only.

On the evening of 29th July 2022 access to Dering Way will be available from the eastern (Higham) end of the closure only.
