Environmental Action Plan

On Thursday 25 July 2024 the Town Council agreed and adopted its first Environmental Action Plan.

This was the result of work undertaken by a Working Group which culminated in a series of pledges / actions that the Town Council are committed to undertake to improve its overall impact on the environment.

The analysis document, which sets this out, including the impacts of these actions, is below.

What we have undertaken so far

Whilst the Town Council adopted the Action Plan on the 25 July 2024, work had been ongoing to try and make improvements to how we operate and lower our carbon footprint.

SOLAR PANELS

Click on the image to access the Kent County Council Solar Together Scheme. This scheme enables residents to register an interest in buying discounted solar panels and battery storage products.

HEAT PUMPS

The link within the image provides guidance on the criteria and application procedure for the Governments Boiler Replacement Scheme. The scheme can fund contributions Air SourceHeat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps and Biomass Boilers. 

GREYWATER RECYCLING

The website linked from the image takes you to the information page from the Centre for Alternative Technologies. This site provides guidance and links on different ways for harvesting both rainwater and greywater and where this can be safely reused within your household.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES

By clicking on the image of the electric car you can access the Goverment website on funding and grants towards plu in vehicles. The website walks you through the definition of which vehicles are incldued and how these can be accessed via dealers.
