Food Bank Receives Financial Support

At a recent meeting of the Town Councils Finance Committee a grant application was considered and it was agreed to provide financial support to the Swanscombe Food Cellar.
Today the Town Mayor, Cllr Peter Harman, presented a cheque to Janet Errington and Lorna Cross from the Food Cellar to help them provide additional items as part of the food packages to people over the festive period.
When thanking the Town Council for the support Janet confirmed that it had been a busy year for the Food Cellar with 877 families and single people supported over the last 12 months.
A big thank you to Janet and her team of volunteers for their continued work in ensuring our community has access to the basic necessities it needs.
