Temporary Road Closure – A226 Galley Hill Road, Swanscombe – 24th May 2023 for 18 months

Due to the likely danger to the public following damage to the road surface caused by a landslip, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and pedestrian access on part of A226 Galley Hill Road, Swanscombe under Section14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Order will come into force on 24th May 2023 when the Emergency Temporary Traffic Regulation Order expires, with an estimated duration of up to 18 months.
A226 Galley Hill Road will be closed from junction B259 High Street, Swanscombe to junction Snowden Hill, Northfleet.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A226 London Road, Swanscombe, B255 St Clements Way, B255 Bean Road, A296 Watling Street, A2260 Southfleet Road, A2660 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A226 Thames Way, A226 Stonebridge Road, A226 Galley Hill Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via B259 High Street, Swanscombe, B259 Stanhope Road, Swanscombe, Cycle Track from Thames Way to Stanhope Road, Swanscombe, A226 Thames Way, Gravesend, A226 Stonebridge Road, Gravesend, A226 Galley Hill Road, Swanscombe and vice versa.

TEMPORARY 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT LIMIT EXCEPT FOR ACCESS – Various Roads, Swanscombe – 3rd July 2023 for 36 months
For the safety of the public and workforce during roadworks, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory weight limit of 7.5 tonne, (except for access) on a section of Various Roads in Swanscombe.
The 7.5 tonne weight restriction, (except for access), applies in both directions on the roads as per the Schedule below;
The restrictions take effect on 3rd July 2023 for up to 36 months and will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do so.
The restrictions have been introduced for the safety of the public whilst the A226 Galley Hill Road, Swanscombe is closed.

Vodafone – Temporary Road Closure – Craylands Lane, Swanscombe – 17 February 2025 

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Vodafone, it will be necessary to close part of Craylands Lane, Swanscombe from 17 February 2025 with estimated completion by 19 February 2025.

 

Craylands Lane, Swanscombe will be closed from outside number 9 to the junction of Cresswell Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Craylands Lane, A226 London Road, High Street, Milton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Vodafone.
