The Town Council would like to thank all the members of the public who attended the full Council meeting on the 23 October 2025 for the latest project update.

At this meeting, details were provided on the initial design and funding work undertaken on the Pavilion Project.

The Town Council are pursuing a phased approach to the building with Phase 1 focusing on delivering strategic sports provision incorporating changing rooms, public toilets and a club room  / café.

It was agreed at the meeting that the x4 funding routes currently underway, including DBC and EDC, would continue to be pursued for the delivery of the first phase of the project.

An update was also provided on the indicative designs for Phase 2. This would include the construction of a multi-function hall on the site, the equivalent of 4 badminton courts. This structure would enable both the delivery of indoor sport and the original programme of community activities proposed in the earlier hub design that the public were consulted on in 2023.

Work to deliver Phase 1 is underway with pre-application discussions having been conducted with the Planning Department at DBC.
